Deck restoration in Arlington Virginia
Deck restoration project.
We received an online request for a deck restoration service. The deck was not pressure serviced or maintained for a long time and it was covered with mildew, algae, and dirt. We suggested pressure washing and staining using a solid color stain. For the pressure washing we used low-pressure nozzle and a deck cleaner detergent then we sprayed the deck detergent using a pump sprayer and let it sit on the deck surfaces for about 15 min. After that, we used a soft bristle brush to soften some of the dirt, mildew. After the scrubbing was done, we rinsed the deck with a low-pressure nozzle until we removed all dirt, algae, and mildew. We asked the homeowner not to use the deck for at least 48 hours or until the deck was dry and ready for the staining.
After the 48 hours, the deck was dry and ready for the stain. We used the premium solid stain by Behr, we started with the handrails, followed by the floor and support post. After the staining was done, we asked the homeowner not to use the deck for another 48 Hrs. The homeowner was very satisfied with the work and the deck looks like new.
